| A
Note From The Principal
Walnut
Bend is my favorite place to be. It is like having 700 children
in my family. Who had any idea that when I sat at Mrs. Holmes'
desk as the textbook clerk in 1979 and Briar Forest was
a dead-end street that I would be the principal of the school.
I have been principal since 1998, and I take great pride
in the students' successes and want the brightest future
they can imagine for themselves. When I think of the future,
it reminds me of the new school that we will be moving to
in January. It is two stories and just right for us. In
the year 2007 we will move back to Walnut Bend into a new
building. It has been said that Walnut Bend will be as exciting
on the outside as it is on the inside. Our focus will continue
to be on the academic success of our students. Parents are
always welcome at Walnut Bend; we have many things that
you can do: office work, mentoring students, and reading
to students. Come and be part of our Eagle family.
